WHITESNAKE DVD Due In August, Catalogue CDs To Follow
June 15, 2005Launch Radio Networks reports: August 16 is the release date for WHITESNAKE's first-ever concert DVD. It's called "The Rock & Roll, Rhythm & Blues Show Live", and it was shot last October at the Hammersmith Odeon in London, which is one of singer David Coverdale's favorite places to play. Coverdale told Launch that it was a night to remember. "We had 5,000 people from all over the world," he said. "People had come in from Japan, Venezuela, the States — it was extraordinary — and it all came together. Jimmy Page came down to see me — it was just lovely."
The DVD was supposed to be out at or near the start of WHITESNAKE's summer tour, which gets underway next Monday (June 20) at The Big Easy Concert House in Spokane, Washington. Unfortunately, the producer suffered a heart attack, which delayed work on the project.
In addition to the DVD, two separate catalogue releases are also on the way. On September 20, a three-CD box called "Whitesnake Chronicles" will come out, with the albums "Slide It In", "Whitesnake", and "Slip Of The Tongue". Then, a two-CD best-of called "Whitesnake Gold Series" will follow on October 4.
WHITESNAKE will tour Latin America later this year with JUDAS PRIEST.
